I have a pretty hefty case of ADD, and anyone who has ever had even a single conversation with me, no matter how short, will verify my ability to think and say and do 10 million things at once, and weave among them with barely a pause. Anyone who has known me for longer knows that I will also lose all those things, forget the ideas that I've started and get upset at myself for my brain's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants and I can rarely find my keys, my wallet or my phone (even if I'm on it). While I love my ability to come up with hundreds of ideas and be creative, I get really frustrated that I get lost bringing them to fruition. This has been a problem since I was diagnosed in 4th grade, back in the wild and crazy 80s. Thankfully, because of my ADD and the academic struggles it created, I went to an awesome school (Shout out to Oakland School) that taught me how to externally organize since my brain has 0 desire to do it itself. So even though I battle my brain daily to get stuff done, even when I'm on my meds, getting and STAYING organized makes it possible to get the things done.
This is going to be our go to state by state binder. It's a quasi old school Trapper Keeper (it does have a metal not plastic binder and a magnet not Velcro closure) and it makes a great addition to my Evernote electronic notebooks and my Pinterest boards. I can work on ideas and not be plugged in, Alex, Scoops and Mickey can easily add their ideas. And Post It Notes! Plus I can doodle, all things are better with doodles. The way to my heart...doodles and Post It Notes.

Wait, you're doing WHAT?
We're planning our road school journey for the 2018 - 2019 summer and school year while weaving in figure skating and ice hockey! Are we insane? Yes. You won't be the first to accuse us of such, nor shall you be the last. We're okay with that. We're not doing this for anyone but ourselves. So who are we?
Elly - Mom.
Ace - Dad.
Alex - Oldest child.
Scoops - Oldest boy child.
Mickey - Youngest child.
We are currently in our 5th year of homeschooling Alex and Scoops and this year planning next year is part of the curriculum. (Ack!) We are secular, eclectic homeschoolers and our reasons for homeschooling range from "mornings suck" to "creativity isn't encouraged in our schools" to "have more fun doing our own thing."
Where can you find us on social media? We are Roadschool Rocks on Facebook and Instagram.
